Act as working leader with understanding of full production responsibilities within the press room.  The Press Room Leader is responsible for ensuring that Safety, Quality, Delivery and production Efficiencies meet the standards and expectation of internal and external customers.

  • Training and developing of production specialist
  • Operate press and pack parts
  • Operate crane
  • Stage Coils
  • Change dies as needed
  • Move material using material handlers (hi-lo)
  • Adjust fingers on servo press as needed
  • Actively participate in meeting and metric reviews
  • Assure last piece process, set up confirmation sheet and die history process is followed
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and assist with repair of issues relating to transfer, shuttles, and conveyors
  • Troubleshoot, adjust and assist with repair issues relating to die protection, die lubes, and scrap removal system, and in die fastener systems
  • Identify non-conforming parts and run parameters
  • Maintain procedures for non-conforming parts
  • Maintain performance standard (production rates, OEE)
  • Knowledge of first off, last off quality inspection
  • Process daily paperwork as required


  • Ability to train others

  • Ability to operate machinery (overhead crane, hi-lo, die cart, etc)

  • Frequent exposure to noise, fumes, dirt, heat, sparks, and smoke
  • May also be exposed to water, vibration, dust, grease, and oil
  • Exposure to high and low voltage components and systems
  • Frequently walks, bends, twists, turns, and lifts while performing functions of position
  • Working with/around moderately-sized equipment within a work area
  • Possible cuts, scrapes, burns or bruises
  • Eye protection required; hearing protection required; cut resistant arm guards required; cut resistant gloves required
  • Frequently entering weld cells with high-speed heavy equipment
  • Frequent exposure to pinch points, rotating equipment
  • When working in electrical cabinets, controller cabinets etc., potential for Arc Flash hazard
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs
  • Ability to stand for 12 hours
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week plus mandatory overtime


  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday.
  • Understanding of the press room production department
  • Minimum 5 years press manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ press operating experience


  • One year of experience working at Challenge Manufacturing or one-year leadership experience (preferred).
  • Machine operation and/or material handling equipment experience (preferred).
  • 2+ years in leadership role
  • 2+ years’ experience operating servo presses
