Who We Want:
Manage and develop the Cost Estimating department, responsible for creating and maintaining quote models for a complex array of products, from pursuit of new business through service. Oversee team of five estimators to ensure timely and accurate responses to customer quote requests on new business and engineering changes.
What You'll Do:
- Manage widely varying quoting demands by balancing the workload and department resources
- Comprehend RFQ packages and identify key items and missing / conflicting information
- Closely monitor progress and due dates, ensuring open issues that affect quote timing and / or quality maintain visibility
- Communicate with sales, purchasing, finance, engineering, and program management personnel to ensure RFQ responses are accurate and timely
- Assist with analysis of, and responses to, pricing inquiries related to part costing
- Confirm all required tasks and considerations have been comprehended prior to identifying quotes as ‘complete’
When and Where:
This will be a 830-5PM M-F position located at our Corporate Office in Walker, MI.
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 10 years of estimating experience in automotive manufacturing
- Stamping and / or assembly processing or design
- Working knowledge of automotive part production manufacturing
- Proficiency in cost model development
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including ability to follow and create complex formulas
- Ability to effectively communicate with personnel in varying roles, in person, via telephone, and email
