Position Summary:

The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a dynamic group of software engineers focused on building, modifying, and implementing software tools to support manufacturing plants.  This will be a hands-on role responsible for scheduling, assignment prioritization, high-level technical support, and execution, and implementation. The candidate will also collaborate with other internal groups and will need to be capable of influencing others even without direct reporting structure. With the Director of Automation this leader will help implement Challenge Manufacturing’s automation roadmapThis role will need to combine software engineering, controls, automation, and process engineering knowledge with a technologically progressive mindset and passion for digital transformation. This person must be a continuous learner driven to explore and understand new technologies and solutions. 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • (5) years of industry and engineering experience including (2) years of minimum experience in engineering management 
  • Familiar with software version control systems, especially GIT 
  • Experience with SQL or other databases 
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in Inductive Automation Ignition software 
  • Familiarity with the application of software solutions in a manufacturing environment.
