Position Summary:

The Joining Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a talented group of joining engineers with various specialtiesThis role will be a hands-on role responsible for scheduling, assignment prioritization high-level technical support, and implementation. The candidate will also collaborate with various managers and team members and will need to be capable of influencing others even without direct reporting structure. In concert with the Director of Automation this leader will help direct, document and roadmap the maintenance, and upgrading of the companies joining tools and methodologiesThis role will need to combine solid foundational engineer knowledge with a passion for leading and enabling other team members. This person will need be a continuous learner driven to explore and understand new technologies. 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing industries with a strong focus on Joining Technologies 
  • Lean or six sigma experiences (green or black belt certified preferred) 
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to joining. 
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability. 
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time. 
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Ability and willingness to lead by example. 
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. 
  • Technical Ability: 
  • Robotic programming experience-ABB/Fanuc/Kawasaki preferred 
  • Destructive testing in all joining applications with the ability to implement new testing equipment and perform training 
  • ACAD/Solidworks and GD&T experience preferred 
  • Ability to troubleshoot joining equipment 
  • Basic PLC, HMI, and robotic troubleshooting
