Position Summary:

POSITION PURPOSE

Repair parts/components that are non-conforming to customer specification by welding, grinding, or other methods as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

  1. Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, measure cut and join metals correctly
  3. Clamp, grind, tack-weld, or bolt components into position before welding
  4. Determine and set correct gas ratio
  5. Determine the correct gauge thickness
  6. Test strength of each weld after each has been made
  7. Troubleshoot issues with weld equipment
  8. Inspect final products for quality standards
  9. Regularly clean and inspect welding equipment and tools
  10. Repair parts/components – All weld repair types including/ not limited to
  • MiG – Spot – Nut – TIG – Resistant – Groove
  • Surfacing- Plug – Slot – Flash – Seam – Arc – Upset – Fillet

 

  1. Tag parts
  2. Move parts to correct location in the plant/facility
  3. Participate in preventative actions where appropriate
  4. Utilization of plexus (ERP system)
  5. Conduct housekeeping for personal work area or shared facility space
  6. Maintain welding equipment

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • 3-5 years in relevant work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certified in MiG and/or TIG welding
