Who We Want:

The Manufacturing MP&L Analyst responsibilities include managing materials related KPI’s for assigned plants. The Manufacturing Materials Analyst will work to train and develop the plant materials teams for assigned plants and ensure CMC processes and procedures are followed to ensure customers are delivered quality parts on-time. They are subject matter experts in our ordering, receiving, shipping, and cycle counting processes. This position will be involved in the complete lifecycle of parts from Early Source, Product Development, Production and End of Life. 

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor plant level materials KPI’s for accuracy and lead efforts to improve metrics
  • Train newly hired Material Managers and create and implement continual education to material management
  • Monitor inventory levels at assigned plants against agreed target levels
  • Plan and participate in Year End Physical Inventories and any other designated physical inventories throughout the year at assigned plants
  • Track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns
  • Participate in launch meetings to plan out activities in future time periods and audit for BOM accuracy and lead time presence
  • Analyze cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate at assigned plants
  • Analyze material adjustments at assigned plants and ensure thorough investigation and comprehensive corrective actions are put in place
  • Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand
  • Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records/reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Assist finance team with investigation of any invoicing and/or pricing issues
  • Communicate end of program life to relevant parties, including supply chain and operations teams, to minimize the financial impacts of inventory obsolescence and promote accurate business planning
  • Promote transparent communications between supplier and customer regarding manufacturing limitations and/or opportunities
  • Participate in launch of new Challenge Mfg plants

When and Where:

This will be a 7AM-4PM M-F position located at our Plant in Pontiac, MI. 

What You Need to Have:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Inventory Control and/or Shipping
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (major or concentration in Supply Chain Management/Logistics is a strong plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position
  • Experience with Plex Systems ERP strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in automotive industry preferred
