What You'll Do:

We have an immediate opening for a Robotics/Controls Engineer (Corporate) at our Walker, MI facility.  Our Robotics/Controls Engineers are responsible for the following: 

  1. Launch
    1. Develop robot launch documentation
    2. Manage robot issues in launch phase
    3. Robot audit lead
    4. Robot technical consultant in design reviews
      1. Provide RIA robot safety standards knowledge
      2. Provide robot hardware and software capabilities expertise 
  1. Machine Standards
    1. Document lessons learned in the field
    2. Develop and submit verbiage to be added in machine standards
    3. Enforce machine standards in launched programs
  1. R & D
    1. Maintain R&D lab robots
    2. Continuously test Challenge standard equipment in all possible scenarios 
    3. Apply field lessons learned in lab robots
    4. Develop robot related drawing sets to be used in launch
    5. Distribute robot lab examples
    6. Test new equipment that interacts with robots
      1. To gain new functionality
      2. To react on phased out equipment

What You Need to Have:

  • 5 years' experience with Fanuc and/or ABB (UAF a plus)
  • Firm knowledge of Industry standards NFPA/NEC and UL
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Must be a Self-Starter and work with minimal supervision + for PLC experience
  • Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
