Who We Want:

We are looking for a Sr. Controls Engineer to support in our growth! Our Sr Controls Engineer is responsible for machine standardization, launch, troubleshooting, maintaining and improvement of highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems. This is often accomplished in demanding situations with tight deadlines. The perfect candidate should be able to program and debug automated robotic welding, sealing, fastening and assembly systems; as well as having the capability to program Panel View (HMI) and PLC. We are looking for a candidate with effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills and be able to work collaboratively with different team members and different levels of the organization. As a Senior member on the team, we hope to see leadership and a stronger think out of the box mentality with your extra experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Development, testing and improvement of current machine standards
  • As needed design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other types of electronic or electrical manufacturing equipment
  • Provide support for installation, controls issues and wiring upgrades on equipment, companywide. Assist in and occasionally lead in the trouble shooting of malfunctioning equipment
  • Continuous improvement activities such as cycle time reduction, standardization of existing equipment and incorporation of error proofing strategies
  • Frequent exposure to noise, fumes, dirt, heat, sparks, and smoke
  • May also be exposed to water, vibration, dust, grease, and oil
  • Frequently loads, unloads, lifts/moves, pulls/pushes, and/or positions products and materials, weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally weighing more (assistance given with heaving objects by work partners), through work center
  • Frequently walks, bends, twists, turns, and lifts while performing functions of position
  • Follow and influence safety protection: Eye protection required; hearing protection required; cut resistant arm guards required; cut resistant gloves required

When and Where:

This will be a B Shift- 5PM to 330AM Tue-Sat position located at our Plant in Pontiac MI.

What You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or other engineering discipline required
  • 7+ years of experience with PLC & HMI programming required
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix, Guard Logix, Panel View plus platforms required
  • 3+ years system integration experience preferred
  • Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
