Forklift Driver, Manufacturing 1st Shift

Position Summary:

  • Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job description
  • Participates, as requested, in independent objective auditing activities and supports company continuous improvement activities
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
  • Positions forks. Lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
  • Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device
  • Recharges batteries or replaces liquefied gas tank
  • Other job duties not outlined above but requested by management

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain powered industrial truck license (required).
  • Two+ years of verifiable forklift experience - sit down electric and propane
  • One-year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • One-year experience moving metal automotive containers
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
