What You'll Do:
- Overseeing department operations. This includes part quality and part delivery, labor cost control, material usage and inventory accuracy.
- Prior to the start of shift must arrange a job line up to meet customer requirements.
- Consider available material, equipment and manpower, including skills.
- Review work orders with staff throughout the shift to ensure that staff is filling out forms correctly.
- Review work at every phase in the process to ensure quality.
- Completing daily attendance sheets.
- Review ship list, work orders, schedules, etc. with office assistant.
- Ensure that all plant activities are carried out in compliance with ISO/TS-16949 Standards.
- Provide teaching and coaching necessary to ensure that plant’s major objectives are met with regard to productivity, quality and delivery.
- To be knowledgeable of and comply with Company Quality / Environmental System and procedures, work instructions and policies applicable to daily work activities.
- Oversee all operations as it pertains to manufacturing.
- Coordinates work flow; daily schedule through manufacturing manager and forepersons. Handle disciplinary concerns in coordination with HR.
- Handle quality, receiving and shipping problems as they arise.
- Ensure incoming and outgoing material is handled and labeled correctly.
- Experience in Setting up, or operating presses a plus.
When and Where:
This will be a Z Shift / 5:00-PM - 5:00 AM Friday-Sunday position located at our office in Kansas City, MO.
Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.
What You Need to Have:
- Will consider any manuf. background (metal, stamping, assembly)
- Auto industry experience preferred.
- Hands on supervisor position overseeing up to 30 employees.
- Must have exp. in implementing & maintaining Lean Manuf. practices, 5S, Just-in-time, Production
- Reporting etc.
- 5 + year supervisory experience required
- Good math skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good leadership skills.
- At least two (2) years as machine operator preferred, but not mandatory.
