Position Summary:
Provide production support by performing setup, troubleshooting and operations of automated welding cells within a production facility. Implements best practices and proactively assess welding/robotic applications. May mentor Auto Technician trainees.
RESPONSIBILITIES & RESULTS
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency while troubleshooting automated welding cells to effect permanent change in order to eliminate cell down time.
- Ability to execute with proficiency all duties and responsibilities requirements of weld technician.
- Prioritize tasks within the facility relating to weld troubleshooting, set-up and coordinate events with production.
- Demonstrate basic level proficiency in troubleshooting using electrical / mechanical prints.
- Perform and critique equipment preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot low voltage electrical components and circuits (Connecting circuit breakers or other low voltage components in a junction box or panel) (Wiring
harnesses, drive systems, relays, boards). - Make proper connections of the following communication protocols: Remote I/O, Ethernet, DeviceNet.
- Modify and perform basic programming of robots in all robotic applications such as ABB and Fanuc.
- Basic weld troubleshooting for all welding applications (drawn arc, GMAW, resistance welding, projection welding, Pneumatic systems, etc.).
- Basic Troubleshooting and adjustment of weld fixtures.
- Troubleshoot Poke Yoke systems and applications.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Two-year technical degree (preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft applications, i.e., word, excel, outlook, etc. (required).
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday.
- Must be able to obtain hi-lo and aerial platform licenses.
- Ability to obtain arc flash training certificate.
- Excellent verbal communication skills (preferred).
- Successful completion of Weld Tech curriculum with passing grade.
- Successful completion of Weld Tech trainee period.
- Successful completion of Auto Technician curriculum with passing grade.
- Successful completion of Auto Technician trainee period.
- Minimum 2 years working as weld machine operator.
- Minimum 2 years working as Weld Technician.
- Minimum 1 year on the job training as Auto Technician Trainee.
- Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
