What You'll Do:
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced tools in order to perform precision machining operations
- Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary
- Advanced weld fixture adjustments for complex systems
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate parts and components
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machinery work
- Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary
- Proactively participate in continuous improvement efforts and drive process, tooling, and equipment enhancements that will improve production efficiency and product quality
- Complete and manage work orders via the Plex systems
- Confers within engineering, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
When and Where:
This will be a 2nd Shift / 2:30PM-10:30pmPM M-F position located at our Plant in Holland, Mi.
What You Need to Have:
- Strong communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Valid forklift license issued by Challenge Manufacturing
- Valid Scissor Lift license issued by Challenge Manufacturing
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as portability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
